The “3rd Cesta Punta World Cup” has been a big succees
Last Saturday November the 28th finished the “3rd Cesta Punta World Cup. – IOC’s President Trophy” played in Palencia (Spain).
As much in the sport aspect (good matches and high level), like in referring to the organization (excellent in all the senses, with important implication of the City Council and the local Club of Pelota) to which we added the great affluence of public (high attendance in all the matches), this edition of the World Cup can be catalogued of appreciable success The French team was the winner (against Mexico in the final). Spain was 3rd and the Philippines the 4th

This morning, in Press conference celebrated in the Spanish City of Palencia, in the presence of the mayor, Mr. Heliodoro Gallego, of FIPV’s president, Mr.D.Boutineau, and of Spanish Federation of Pelota, Mr. J. Garcia Angulo, took place the official presentation of the “3rd Cesta Punta World Cup.- IOC’s President Trophy” that will be played in the mentioned Castilian city between 24 and 28 of the present month of November. The inaugural match will be played in the morning of the next Tuesday the 24th, and the final will be next Saturday the 28th.
Following FIPV rules of World Cups, the participation is for the 4 first countries classified in the last World Championship (Mexico 06), that in this case are Spain, France, Mexico and the Philippines.
All the information will be able to obtain through the Website of the FIPV (www.fipv.net), but some management are being done in the way that the matches are broadcasted, either by Internet, or by a channel of T.V. The next week we’ll inform in this sense.

As we have informed, the “III Cesta Punta World Cup.- IOC’s President Trophy” will cannot be played, as it was planning, in Cagayan Valley (Philippines) because the Fronton is not ready yet. The FIPV has taken the decision to play this competition from November the 24th till the 28th in Palencia (Spain), organised by the Pelota Spanish Federation.
